Laura Mae Socks writes songs that reflect the sparse landscape of the rural prairie in Southwest Louisiana where she and Jon Bertrand (of the Pine Leaf Boys) call home. Often described as haunting due to her lilting vocal style and Jon's reverb-soaked Telecaster, they play songs reminiscent of a bygone era of country music. In addition to paying homage to the old-style country standards she learned from her mother, a country singer as well, Laura Mae performs a number of originals.
