Mink’s Miracle Medicine draw on their respective backgrounds of old-timey country and indie-punk music to create a thoughtful mesh of twang inspired rock n’ roll.
Mink’s Miracle Medicine formed in 2013 in Charlottesville at the hands of songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Melissa Wright and Danny Zezeski.
Singer and guitarist Melissa Wright was born and raised at the foothills of the Blue Ridges in Virginia. After high school, she attended Berklee College of Music on scholarship and achieved an undergrad degree before at 21 years of age. After graduation she relocated to Charlottesville to the Magnolia House, a DIY house venue of notable importance to the small but thriving indie scene in Central VA.
Meanwhile, Daniel Zezeski was forging his own musical path as an early member of the punk outfit the Menzingers in Scranton, PA. His punk roots come alive in his songwriting, while his drumming style croons softly behind Melissa’s voice as an individual rhythmic melody.
The pair recently relocated to Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia and frequently perform in Virginia, West Virginia, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York City.
Mink’s inaugural performance was a comic book shop in Philadelphia. Since then they have performed at venues like the Bowery Electric (NYC), WDVX Blue Plate Special (TN), The Black Cat (DC), Legendary Dobbs (PA), CBGB Festival (NYC), The Tally Ho Theater (VA), The Bright Box (VA), the Great West Virginia Train Race (VA), and many more.
