Christopher Long (aka Pro-Lif-ik) was born in Helsinki, Finland in the 20th Century A.D. He moved to Indiana in his early childhood and grew up in Maryland on the outskirts of Baltimore. With a background in music theory he began playing piano at a young age, which eventually drew him into hip-hop during the early 90s. He began regularly writing at the age of 17 after dabbling with music at an earlier age.
He released his first project DaProlifik1, Vol. I to the public on YouTube in 2008, which was followed up by Vol. II later that year. In 2009, he collaborated with Beat Monarchs to create the album Last Days. During the same year he was contacted by Amsterdam’s Jointdale Records who produced Gotta Find Way, which included the track ‘316’. This song was also featured on the HipHop32.com/Tall-Order charity compilation album One Life Mixtape Vol. I – In Aid of Console. This compilation featured Kool G Rap, Rhyme Asylum, and Killah Priest. All proceeds from the project went to suicide awareness.
In late 2012, Pro-lif-ik co-founded Surgeonhouse Records with audio engineer Deafguerilla. After recording the 2012 Demo and the Ascension Mixtape, the two began assembling a massive catalogue of music.
In late 2015, Pro-lif-ik signed with Excitement South Entertainment in conjunction with Surgeonhouse Records for distribution and publishing purposes.
In May 2016, a promotional EP titled Devil's Diary was released and made available for free download. The EP is a bonus addition to the full length album Devil On My Shoulder, which is available now in CD format as well as digital download.
2016 will see the release of a lot of Pro-Lif-ik's material. These will include EPs, Mixtapes, Collaborations, and full length albums.
