Two Harrisburg bands are coming down to beautiful Frederick, MD Friday October 18th for an evening of sweet tunes at Café Nola!
Wayward Giants are a Harrisburg/Lancaster based jazz/punk band founded by Jalen Cliatt (guitar/vocals) and Sy Rossi (bass/ backup vocals). Filled out by T.J. Cole (drums) and Nick Harman (lead guitar), this group believes strongly in creative freedom and unadulterated expression for each member. The result- sudden dynamic shifts, powerful yells, bluesy solos, poetic lyrics, and tantalizing harmonies. Restricting themselves neither to jazz, nor rock, these giants wander wherever they feel.
Soul Miners Union is an original Roots and Blues band paying homage to American songwriting, rhythms, and tones. Hailing from the mountains and valleys of Pennsylvania, the united experience of Ben Brandt on guitar with Kevin Koa on bass merge generations of listeners with an authentic representation of modern and classical themes. Based out of Harris Pa and drawing from Blues, Roots, Funk, Soul, and Americana music, Soul Miners Union produce their own unique sound that is enjoyed by all. The band was essentially formed when Ben Brandt and Kevin Koa found friendship first over a candid conversation about guitar picks. The shared attention to detail and love for the craft was undeniable. Conversations continued to grow to every aspect of the art of guitar and eventually led to sharing performances and attending jams at the Blues Society of Central PA at every opportunity. Upon returning from tour with big plans and a notebook full of lyrics, Kevin and Ben began sharing the visions of a harmonious future.
